A gorgeous 19th century antique gilded chair. This highly decorative chair was influenced by the earlier French Louis XVI furniture. When made, this would have been an expensive chair to grace a grand house. The chair's oval back has an exquisite repeat ribbon and bow pattern. The rear legs meet the oval back with beautiful acanthus leaf carvings. The fluted front legs are decorated with a floral emboss, and the ribbon pattern is repeated on the frame of the chair.
This is an antique piece and has wear and tear from age. The gold gilding has numerous chips with some of the gilding missing, and the later fabric has some marks.
52cm total height, 48cm wide, 45cm deep.
