This is a solid oak, 'Old Charm' dresser, with both Tudor Rose and Linenfold carving.

Prior to painting, I have sanded off nearly all of the original dark varnish from the exterior. This gives superior paint adhesion and allows the underlying pale oak to come through.
To show the natural oak, on the top section, I have left the shelf and top pillar fronts unpainted. On the base I have left the drawer top lips and the edge sides of the cupboard doors unpainted.
The worktop surface is also sanded to natural oak, and have applied three coats of worktop oil for protection.

The base section has been painted with three coats of Autentico 'Antique White' chalk paint, a pale cream colour. The exterior of the curved, Dutch style, dresser top has also been painted with Autentico 'Antique White' chalk paint. To provide a subtle contrast I have used Farrow & Ball 'String' Estate Eggshell, which is a lovely straw colour, on the top's backboard and shelves. I have also applied two coats of 'Liberon' clear bees' wax to the paint work.

Each of the top's three shelves has a groove for displaying plates. The base cupboard has a useful storage shelf. The drawers are constructed with dovetail joints.

The pretty cast iron decorative, ring pull handles and the snake hinges are original to the dresser. The dresser also retains its 'Old Charm' badge, a mark of high quality furniture.

Seller refurbished to a high standard. This is a vintage item and will have some small scratches, marks and dings.

The top and base separate for ease of transportation.

Total height: 183cm. Base: 93cm wide, 82cm high, 44cm deep. Top: 91cm wide, 101cm high, shelves 15cm deep.

Collection in person or by courier. Local delivery is possible at modest additional cost.
