An excellent, solid oak, chest of drawers from the 1930s.

Prior to painting, I have stripped off the original dark varnish to provide superior paint adhesion. I have painted the chest with three coats of Dulux Valentine 'Perle Gris' eggshell from France, which is a lovely light grey colour. The top surface and the drawer fronts have left unpainted to reveal the natural oak grain. The drawer fronts have a particularly attractive grain. The entire outer of the chest has been waxed with two coats of 'Liberon' bees' wax.

The chest is well made from heavy oak, and the three drawers are graduated in size and are dovetail constructed. The ebonised handles are of the period and are likely to be original to the piece.

This is a vintage piece which has been refurbished to a high standard. It is in good and clean condition, but will have small marks and scratches.

91cm wide, 93.5cm high, 45cm deep.

Collection in person.
